Reading Response: "Did Somebody Say New Media?"

As I was reading the introduction the media design I did have a few questions. One of my questions was that I know now we have things like smart phones, cameras, tablets and things like that and we're overall more advanced in technology compared to back then I was wondering if processes to get pictures and writing printed like the video we saw during class cost more or the same now that they become "trendy" because they're vintage and people think that its more cool than just printing things out on a printer? Another thing that I wondered about as I read was from my understanding of the text "new media" was not popular when it started? Because in the reading it says that new media companies disappeared so did it take time for people to get use to the fact the new media was a thing back in the day? As I continued to read I found it very interesting how many different definitions to new media people had and how throughout every decade it somewhat meant something else to the public. Something else that I found interesting while reading was about how they were talking about information and what it really is and they stated that the definition of information itself has nothing to do with meaning and knowledge but more so it has t do with being "a discrete set of probabilities" and having the freedom of choice and that to me is interesting because I was always taught that it was more so the first definition rather than the actual definition. All in all I learned a lot from the reading and I'm excited to learn more throughout the course!
